Network Interface Cards rarely have driver problems after a successful
install. This information is here for those rare cases when the drivers
are corrupted and need to be re-installed. The user should have been
left the driver diskette or CD. If they do not have the drivers, they
should connect via dial-up and download them from the NIC's
Manufacturer's Website. Windows 98SE machines will
likely already have the drivers, however this is not always the case. The
user will need the operating
system CD or cab files.
3Com Ethernet Adapters
Covad supply's and installs the 3Com Model 3C900B-TPO Ethernet Card
They will install NICS on Windows 95/98 machines only. If the customer
is using Windows NT4, Windows 2000, or a Mac, it is the customers
responsibility to already have a working NIC installed prior to the
installers visit.
They should have left the customer with a 3Com CD labeled 3Com EtherCD
XL v5.1

Windows 95/98
Removal:
Open the Network Control Panel, highlight the 3Com Etherlink XL PCI
(3C900b-TPO) and click remove.
or
Open Device Manager, click the + in front of Network Adapters, highlight
the 3Com Etherlink XL PCI (3C900b-TPO) and click remove.
A failed or partial install may not show the NIC in the Network Control
Panel, but it may be listed in Device Manager with a yellow ! or Red X.

Windows NT
Removal:
1. START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK 2. Click Adapters tab
3. Highlight the 3Com Fast EtherLink XL and click Remove 4. Click
Protocol tab, remove all protocols 5. Restart NT Note: A service failing
to start error may occur on start up. This is normal, because the
drivers are not loaded for the NIC
