NIC IP: 192.168.254.1 |
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
|
Modem IP: 192.168.254.254
|
It is not necessary to specify IP's in the TCP/IP
settings unless you need to ping the NIC and/or router, or the
user is receiving TAP errors. If you do specify the IP, you
should use the above settings for this modem. Windows:
Enter these settings in the TCP/IP properties of the Ethernet
Adapter connected to the DSL modem. The TCP/IP settings for both
the NIC and the NTS PPPoE Adapter are normally set the same way
we set up TCP/IP for the Dial-up Adapter:
• Obtain an IP address automatically
• Disable WINS resolution
• Installed gateways is blank
• Disable DNS
Mac:
Change TCP/IP from "Connect via Enternet" to
"Connect via Ethernet" and change "Configure
Using PPP Server" to "Configure Manually". Enter
the appropriate IP and Subnet Mask, then close and save the
changes. Run the OT Tool directly from the MindSpring CD.
(located in the Other Software or Software Depot folder) In the
lower right corner, enter the NIC or router's IP address and
click on the "Ping" button. See
