The first thing you want to do is determine what version of OT is currently
installed on the machine.
To do this go to TCP/IP. Click on the info button in the lower left hand
corner.
In this window you can see what version is installed. Remember this number.
Click ok
Installing OT 2.5.5
Have the user put in there MacOS CD
Open the CD
Double click on the MacOS Install
Wait for the splash screen to disappear
Click on continue
Click on select
Click add/remove
Click on mac os 8.6/9
Click on the menu to the right of the mac os 8.6/9 box (it say's
"Recommended Installation")
Choose on Customized installation (it's a menu selection that pops up when
you click on Recommended Installation)
Select Network & Connectivity, and only Network and Connectivity
Click OK
This will then install OT 2.5.5
A message will pop up stating that you must restart your computer to use
the software you installed. Click restart
Installing OT 1.1.1
Put in the CD
Double Click on the MindSpring 4.01 CD
Scroll down till you see Open Transport 1.1.1
Open this folder
Double click on Installer
Click on continue
Make sure the Destination disk is the startup disk (this should happen by
default)
Click install
If an error message pops up stating that the version of Open Transport on
the computer is newer than the one you are installing, AND THE OT VERSION IS
IN THE 1's, click ok
Once you have installed OT scroll down to "Preparing to reinstall
EnterNet 100"
Preparing to reinstall EnterNet 100
Before you reinstall EnterNet 100 you must delete some certain files
First open the hard drive and then open the system folder
In the system folder you want to throw away MacTCP DNR
Open the Preference folder (it's in the system folder)
In this folder you want to locate and throw away the TCP/IP Preferences file
and the Network TeleSystems folder
Close this folder and then open the Extensions folder (it's also in the
system folder)
Locate and trash the EnterNet Extension and EnterNet
