Connecting
Double click on the enternet 100 alias application on the desktop
If there isn't an alias to EnterNet 100 on the desktop it can be located
under the hard drive in the NTS EnterNet 100 folder
The Connect via should be set to whichever NIC the router is connected to.
The default is normally right (i.e. don't change this until you can't connect)
but if they have two cards...
Ethernet (built in) or Ethernet would be the NIC built into the
motherboard/came with the computer
Anything that has two characters on the end (A1, F2) is going to be a PCI
based Ethernet card
In the User ID field enter the customers full e-mail address
In the Password field enter the password for this e-mail account
Click connect
It will ask you if you want to "Save changes to 'Default' before
connecting?" click Save
The status window will say Authenticating.... and then it will say
Connected.
If you get this error:
That means that there password or login is incorrect. Verify with the ISP
that the user is using their full e-mail address and that their password
is correct.
If you get this error:
First try to ping the router.
If that works try holding down the option button and hitting connect
If it still doesn't work toggle AppleTalk between on through remote
only, on through Ethernet, and off
If it doesn't connect with any of these AppleTalk settings contact the
ISP to trouble shoot the line.
If that doesn't work:
Try switching out the cable and ping again
If you still can't ping switch out the router (If another router is
available) and ping again
If you still can't ping then it's time to nuke
and pave
If you get this error:
There could be two problems:
1) The user could be using a 100 base T card that can't drop down to 10
base T
The user must get a new card or if possible have the installer use a Zyxel
641 router.
